to MAKE POLITICIANS ANSWERABLE?

Politicians seem unaware of - or choose to ignore - the contempt in which they are held by the electorate. As their credibility slumps, so the turnout at elections declines. Most young people scorn the antics of politics and the predatory taxes that go to pay for them.

Whereas a low electoral turnout tells us something about the state of politics, politicians choose to blame the electorate and accuse us of “apathy”. While such strong signals are ignored, there can be little surprise that politicians - who have the power and authority so to do - fail to reform themselves.
